“The function of music is to release us from the tyranny of conscious thought” -Sir Thomas Beecham
Smart guy, that Beecham! I really do believe in the power of music to alter your mood. To me, a playlist is a lot like a boyfriend. If it’s not the right timing, you’ll want to oh-so-eloquently say “F that noise” and get away as fast as humanly possible. But if you have the right one around, it will make mundane tasks more fun, never ever leave you alone on the dance floor, help you sleep at night, and hopefully cheer you up when you’ve had a rough day.
So here is a playlist I created with that rough day mentality in mind. a musical reminder to carry on and not sweat the small stuff. This is for the day when you sleep through your alarm, arrive late to that very important meeting, realize the tags are still on your pants, and a little bit of that breakfast sandwich has mysteriously made its way into your hair, and generally have convinced yourself you are rapidly spiraling down a dirt path to nowhere. So for me, an average Monday. 🙂
